I became involved in my own personal development in 1996 and psychotherapy training in 2003. I have worked as a psychotherapist for over 16 years.
I graduated from the Spectrum Centre for Humanistic Psychology training programme, which is a United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) member organisation. I abide by their code of ethics & practice.
As part of my training, some of the courses I completed were:
- Oxford Cambridge & Royal Society of Arts (OCR) Certificate in Counselling Skills
- Spectrum One-Year Course in Psychotherapy
- Spectrum Post Graduate Course in Psychotherapy
- Spectrum Working with Couples
- College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) Introduction to Working with Couples
I worked as a therapist in the voluntary sector for Richmond Borough MIND from 2006-7.
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). This means my practice meets the standard for a competent, ethical and independent practitioner committed to professional standards of behaviour and practice. I have a strong commitment to my own ongoing professional development, supervision and personal therapy.
In keeping with my ethics, I only work with a limited number of clients at a time.
With a BA (Hons) in Corporate Communication, Post Graduate Diploma and MA in Marketing, I previously worked in UK and international Qualitative Research for over 12 years. My work involved moderating discussion groups and providing strategic consultancy. I also gained a rich understanding of career and workplace issues.
